I really think the problem you mentioned does not only lie in the monorepo's scope, meaning that they are brought by a lot of factor not just the way you organize your code. For example for deployment procedure, there should be another configuration tailored for monorepo solution. If you use the traditional one like the normal repo would do, it simply does not fit. From my point of view, monorepo introduces a lot of pros and also cons, what is most important that you go over them thoroughly and make it completed, make it useful for your current project.
